What Information We Collect

Pre-Launch Email List

If you join our early access list, we collect only your email address through Mailerlite. This is used solely to notify you when TuskNotes launches and for product updates you explicitly opt into.

App Usage (When Launched)

TuskNotes processes all meeting audio, transcriptions, and notes entirely on your local device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of this data on our servers.

License Information

When you purchase TuskNotes, we store only the minimum information required for license validation: your email address and license key.

How Your Data Stays Private

100% Local Processing

  • All audio recording happens on your device
  • Transcription uses on-device AI models
  • Summaries are generated locally
  • Notes are stored only on your Mac

Zero Cloud Dependency

  • No internet connection required for core features
  • No third-party AI services used
  • No analytics or tracking in the app
  • No telemetry data collection

Data Storage and Security

All your meeting notes and recordings are stored locally on your Mac using Apple's secure file system. You have complete control over where files are saved and can delete them at any time through Finder or within the app.

For business users, team folders will use end-to-end encryption, ensuring that even shared notes remain private and secure.

Your Rights

Since TuskNotes doesn't collect your meeting data, you always maintain complete ownership and control. You can:

  • Export your notes at any time
  • Delete any recordings or transcripts
  • Uninstall the app and remove all data
  • Unsubscribe from our email list anytime

Third-Party Services

We use minimal third-party services:

  • Mailerlite: For email list management (pre-launch only)
  • Payment Processor: For secure license purchases: Paddle

These services have their own privacy policies and handle data according to their terms.
